Dozens of community members used the public-comment period to urge the board to reinstate Superintendent Dr. Joseph Malushnick or delay any vote until promised transcripts and investigative materials were released. Tara Reese told the board scheduling and limits on public comment reduced meaningful participation and urged recusal where conflicts exist, saying, "You should not be voting... If you have ever commented negatively on Facebook about our superintendent, you should not be voting."
Students and parents described the superintendent as a visible presence at school events and said the district and public had been denied promised transparency. A student speaker, Nick D'Amico, said the accusations were "a joke" and described Dr. Malushnick as someone who "shows up to everything" for students. Petition organizers and parents also warned that termination could divert funds to litigation rather than student services.
