Butler County staff told commissioners they intend to continue participation in the Targeted Community Alternatives for Prison (TCAP) grant through a memorandum of understanding among the board, the general division of common pleas and the sheriff, covering July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023. According to staff the MOU outlines responsibilities for the sheriff and the courts and lists itemized expenditures totaling roughly $2,100,000.
Staff also requested authority to execute an engagement letter with National Evaluation Consultants Inc. for professional services to evaluate market and economic feasibility and probability conditions, at an amount not to exceed $15,000. The board was asked to authorize the county administrator to sign the engagement letter with the prosecutor's approval of the contract form.
The item was presented as a routine county-administrative matter; commissioners did not record extended debate on the item in the audible transcript.
