Commissioners asked for clarification about a Job and Family Services resolution related to pooled costs for Workforce Development. Julie Gilbert, representing Job and Family Services, explained the measure allows reimbursement to the JFS Public Assistance Fund for pooled costs allocated to workforce development activities and that the accounting is done quarterly based on required random moment samples.
Gilbert also corrected a related resolution: the contract with Second Chance Dayton for group-home services should run through Dec. 31, 2018 (not 2017). The board noted the correction and then voted to accept the clerk's slate of items with that date amended.
Gilbert summarized the intent: because Workforce funds can take time to arrive, JFS may front certain costs and then reimburse the Public Assistance fund once funds are received from the Workforce board.
