The Bucks County Board of Elections approved three polling‑place relocations after staff said the prior sites no longer wished to host voting. The approved moves are: Precinct 5 in Doylestown Township from the Central Bucks Community Center to the Doylestown Township Community Recreation Center; Quakertown Borough Ward 4 from Quakertown Elementary School to the Bucks County Free Library branch; and West Rock Hill Township from the Forest Lodge VFW to West Rock Hill Elementary School.
Ed Richardson, Democratic committee person for Doylestown Township Precinct 5, said it “would have been preferable to move to a new polling location that is within Precinct 5,” and urged a robust communications plan—mailings, maps and signage—to prevent voter confusion. Staff explained that precinct boundaries do not permit moving polling places to neighboring municipalities even when nearby, and said they would mail updated voter registration cards and add clear signage directing affected voters.
The board approved handling the three changes together; the motion was moved, seconded and carried unanimously. Staff said they will include location descriptions and maps in mailings and coordinate signage at sites that will continue as polling locations so voters are redirected correctly.
