October campout at Jack Russell will include sea-turtle education, magician and kids' karaoke

Staff provided a schedule for the October campout at Jack Russell and said the program will include educational and family activities intended for daytime and evening participation rather than overnight stays for most attendees.

"Jacksonville University is gonna do a sea turtle education class at 5. And then 06:00, we have a magician. And then 07:00, we're gonna do kids' karaoke," staff said, adding a movie at 8:30 p.m. and breakfast Sunday morning. Staff emphasized volunteers are welcome but said most participants typically do not sleep overnight; the event is designed with multiple scheduled activities for families.

Why it matters: the campout mixes education and family entertainment and will require volunteer support for scheduled activities; organizers should confirm volunteer roles and supplies ahead of October 17.
