Committee previews Music Fest, Artisan Fair, holiday tree lighting and toy drive

Committee members reviewed a busy autumn and winter calendar that includes Music Fest on Nov. 21, an Artisan Fair and a holiday tree lighting two days later at the Beaches Town Center, and a toy drive in mid-December at Gail Baker.

"In November, we have a music fest on November 21," staff said, adding plans to seek volunteers and to attempt to include wine at the Artisan Fair if permitted. The holiday tree lighting at the Beaches Town Center and a toy drive before Christmas were noted as major December events; staff said volunteer assistance would be appreciated. Committee members also praised a recent Howell Park nature-therapy event that drew about 25 attendees and applauded the police department’s annual haunted-house attraction and trunk-or-treat plans.

Why it matters: the seasonal events will require volunteer coordination and vendor permits and shape the committee’s fall/winter programming calendar.
