Council schedules interviews for interim council appointment, tables Parks & Rec liaison appointment

Council considered several appointments and reappointments on Sept. 8. Daria Thompson (staff) explained the role of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and urged a liaison appointment. Council member Wright recommended tabling the liaison appointment until the council fills a vacant seat; the council voted to table the Parks & Rec liaison matter until the Sept. 22 meeting.

Separately council members discussed and approved scheduling 30-minute open-session interviews for four applicants for the interim council appointment (Dan Carville, Brian Dean, Patrick Chalber, Mary Jane Williams) on Sept. 16 starting at 6 p.m., with Sept. 17 as an alternate. Council also approved a slate of reappointments across the Arts Council, Board of Architectural Review, Tree and Environment Sustainability Committee, Economic Development Advisory Committee and Parks & Rec, while deferring planning commission appointments pending additional information.
