The Murray Board of Trustees opened public hearings on the village's annual budget and tax request on Sept. 8, 2026, and closed both hearings after receiving no public comment, Chairman Jeff Anderson said.
"Hearing no public comment, Chairman Anderson closed the hearing at 7:10 pm," the minutes state for the budget hearing; the tax-request hearing was opened and closed the following minute with the same outcome. The hearings covered the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2026, and ending Sept. 30, 2027.
The board convened at 7:06 p.m. in the Murray Municipal Building. According to the minutes, notice of the meeting was posted in three public places on Aug. 24, 2026, and published in the Omaha World-Herald on Sept. 2, 2026. Chairman Jeff Anderson conducted roll call and informed attendees of the location of the Open Meetings Act poster before opening the hearings.
With no public speakers coming forward during the allotted three-minute comment periods, Anderson closed each hearing and adjourned the meeting at 7:11 p.m. The clerk later certified the minutes as a true and correct copy of proceedings. No motions or votes on the budget or tax levy were recorded in the minutes for this meeting.
