Council appoints members to housing, youth and library boards; approves consent calendar

At the Sept. 7 meeting, the Pittsburg City Council confirmed several appointments to local commissions and advisory bodies.

Following interviews conducted Aug. 17 and earlier applications, the council appointed Michaela Cunningham to the Housing Authority Governing Board, Mariah Cross, Virginia Galvez and Harold Thompson to the Youth Advisory Commission, Sue McDaniel as an alternate to the Library Commission, and Connie McFarland to the Contra Costa Transportation Agency Citizens Advisory Committee. For each item the council made and seconded motions and recorded that the motions carried unanimously.

The council also approved the consent calendar by motion and unanimous vote. Newly appointed commissioners were congratulated and staff said they will continue recruitment for remaining vacancies.
