Council approves $189.3 million in carryover and multiple budget amendments

The county administrator summarized 10 budget amendment requests (BARs) tied to carryover funds and award reconciliations. "The first page will describe the budget amendment... it's an additional fiscal year funding increase of $189,292,376," the administrator said, describing the primary carryover to appropriate uncompleted project funds from FY25‑26 into FY26‑27. Other BARs adjust budgets to match awarded grants or contract changes, including allocations for VOCA ($168,614), VAWA ($133,063), solid waste contract adjustments ($415,000), and Palmetto Pride ($4,936).

Council voted to approve the listed BARs and moved several consent tabs as a bloc during the meeting. The council's approval formalizes the appropriation of carryover balances and aligns departmental budgets with recent grant awards and contract adjustments.
