Township Manager Carolyn Hildebrand told the West Cocalico Township Board on Aug. 18 that she is preparing PennVest paperwork for the Authority loan to purchase new water meters and that staff met with AT&T to discuss switching township phone lines to a FirstNet phone line.
Hildebrand said she has been working with consultants (Rettew, HRG and Integrated Consulting) on a Blue Lake Road project and met with representatives about a Swamp Church Road subdivision. She also reported staff interviews for road‑crew positions and announced that Marissa completed notary training and passed her test.
Hildebrand stated the contract for flashers on Indiantown Road is expected to go out for bid next week and that bid opening is scheduled for Sept. 17. During this segment Supervisor J.J. Stoner moved that the manager write a letter to the Pennsylvania House, Pennsylvania Senate, and Senator Gebhard expressing opposition to the new legislation that would impact township zoning; the motion requested the letter include the names, titles and signatures of the board. Supervisor Jeff Sauder seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The manager's report included routine project coordination and procurement steps; several items noted by Hildebrand (PennVest paperwork and the Indiantown Road bid schedule) will require follow up with external agencies and vendors.
