Harry Horak, a representative of the Corpus Christi Metropolitan Planning Organization, told the San Patricio County Commissioners Court that the MPO is beginning community outreach for its 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan and encouraged residents to participate.
"The reason for my visit here is to invite you and the general public to attend our upcoming community meetings and public outreach events," Horak said, and provided the first meeting date and location: Wednesday, Sept. 9, 4–7 p.m. at the Corpus Christi RTA Building, 602 Staples, second-floor boardroom. He also noted additional meetings will be held throughout Corpus Christi and Portland and that the MPO is collecting quick online survey responses on its MTP webpage.
Horak described outreach incentives for attendees, including drawings for children's bicycles at community events and a year-end drawing for adult bikes. He urged county residents to use the meetings to describe local transportation needs and to contact the MPO via its website or social media for more information.
The court took no formal action beyond listening to the presentation; Horak's remarks were recorded during the public comment portion of the agenda.
