The Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 8 adopted two proclamations: one recognizing Sept. 13–19, 2026 as National Co‑Responder and Crisis Responder Week and another designating September 2026 as Workforce Development Month in Arapahoe County.
The co‑responder proclamation cited the role of behavioral‑health clinicians, peer support specialists and public safety personnel who work alongside law enforcement and noted the county sheriff's behavioral health response team answered 2,386 mental‑health calls in 2025. Commissioners thanked the sheriff and co‑responder teams and praised the program for helping divert people from arrest and hospitalization.
Commissioner Campbell read the workforce proclamation and highlighted Arapahoe Douglas Works' reported impacts, including awards and apprenticeship funding; Sasha Easton of Arapahoe Douglas Works thanked the board and said, "Workforce development is really about creating opportunity for individuals, for businesses, and our communities." The board approved both proclamations by voice vote and invited participating personnel for a photo after the meeting.
