The Hernando County School Board recognized community and business partners at its Sept. 8 meeting. A Challenger K-8 PTO representative described the PTO’s mission and said the group has raised more than $100,000 in the past three years to support classrooms, events and student activities.
Representatives from local businesses and organizations — including Family Chiropractic, Inspired Events, Premier Proshield Roofing and staff from the Southwest Florida Water Management District — accepted certificates. A Family Chiropractic representative described hiring local graduates and offering ECG services at a permanent location for students who need them.
A representative of the Southwest Florida Water Management District said the district’s employee committee chooses four different schools each year across its 16-county region and reported donating roughly 1,115 pairs of shoes systemwide this year, with about 300 pairs supplied to Brooksville Elementary. Board members invited partners forward for photos and thanked them for community support.
