Deputy Chief Shar Wolf told the council that things are "trending really well" for the South Placer Fire District and summarized several public‑facing activities tied to recruitment, training and community outreach.
Wolf said a Mooney Ridge community (in Granite Bay but within the district's sphere) became the 150th Firewise community in Placer County and that members are completing paramedic internships. He also previewed district events: a Measure B open forum on Sept. 12 at Station 20 (9 a.m.–noon), a locally hosted Measure B forum on Sept. 17 (7–8:30 p.m.), a 75th anniversary celebration with family activities and food trucks, and a pancake breakfast on Oct. 3 to coincide with local festivals.
The deputy chief said the district will test an air‑raid siren during the festival weekend and continue youth CPR and Stop‑the‑Bleed training with Del Oro High School. He encouraged residents interested in emergency careers to consider the academy now running in Auburn.
