The county's internal audit of the Youth Project Show and scholarship/rodeo fund reported strong year-over-year growth and near-complete collections. The auditor told the court that as of the morning of the meeting the show had collected 94.10% of receivables with about $93,282 outstanding and that total sales rose from roughly $1.225 million to $1.581 million (a reported increase of about 25.92%).
"As of this morning, 94.10% has been collected, with about $93,282 still outstanding," the auditor said. Commissioners praised the improvements in accounting and auction tracking; the court voted to accept the audit report. Staff noted graphs in the audit packet showing top buyers and year-to-year activity and said cash usage for the auction declined compared with prior audits.
The audit acceptance was procedural; staff suggested continued follow-up on remaining receivables but offered no additional remedial actions during the session. The court formally accepted the audit report by voice vote.
