Consultant Karen Shaw of HYA Associates and Superintendent Megan Argenio presented the Cornwall Central School District’s new strategic plan, describing a multi-phase process of stakeholder interviews, focus groups and surveys. Shaw said the process involved roughly 10 interviews, about 75 focus-group participants and 106 survey respondents and emphasized that the plan is intended as a multi-year roadmap for the district.
Superintendent Argenio summarized the plan’s mission and vision and named team leaders for each priority area: Kate Palumbo (Holistic Student Success); Nicole Triasi (Student Support Services); Joe DeBold (School Engagement & Community Partnerships); John Fink (Resource Management); Karen Brooks and Sean Dennisfar (Digital Citizenship & Instruction). Argenio said teams will begin drafting action plans immediately and report quarterly, with a formal update planned for the September meeting.
"Our mission is the Cornwall Central School District is committed to fostering a shared responsibility for preparing students to become intellectually curious and socially responsible stewards," Argenio said during the presentation. The board discussed implementation cadence, strategic indicators and the possibility of a public strategic dashboard for transparency.
