During public comment, resident Greg Robey urged trustees to consider how the county comprehensive plan and residential expansion could affect the district and said education stakeholders have not been factored into planning. "What is happening with the comp plan and how it impacts the school district...we were not, as an education community, factored in to the comp plan," Robey said, describing meetings where he felt school stakeholders were not included in planning decisions.
Robey also raised concerns about local clerkship and ethics practices, saying New York education law expects an independent clerk and suggesting municipal and library clerk arrangements may not meet statutory impartiality expectations. "A board clerk is what the law requires and not a district clerk," Robey said. He closed by suggesting a STEM proposal — work around AI and self‑directed education — that might be pursued through BOCES collaboration, noting it as a potential avenue for district leadership on emerging curriculum areas.
