Dubuque County zoning staff presented a series of final plats Sept. 8 and the board approved each by voice vote. Zoning administrator Ben Coburn summarized the Newnan Acres plat, which creates two lots (19.4 and 6.5 acres) and relied on a farm‑exemption review to avoid rezoning; the zoning commission recommended approval.
Coburn also described Swiss Valley Estates (three lots arising from an April rezoning), Betcher Farm Subdivision (three lots in Center Township, Lot 2 ~54 acres), the 5 Points Addition (five lots in Center Township) and Egley Place plats 2 and 3 (family subdivisions along US‑52 that met frontage and area standards). For each item the zoning commission recommended approval and the board approved the final plats. Coburn noted development constraints where shared access would limit immediate building and reminded supervisors that future development in agricultural zoned areas would require rezoning.
