Chula updates bank signers and moves CDs to Southern Bank

At the Sept. 8 special session the Chula Board of Aldermen agreed to update signatory cards at Southern Bank and State Bank to include Aldermen Benny Simpson and Geremy Bru, City Clerk Dawn Boyles and Mayor Cody Ireland. The board also voted to transfer certificates of deposit from State Bank to Southern Bank and place them in 7‑month CDs at an interest rate of 4.1% (motion by Benny Simpson, seconded by Andy Harbert; carried 3‑0).

The board discussed arranging a meeting between a bank representative and Clevenger and Associates to address bookkeeping and emergent accounting matters; no vote was recorded on that scheduling during the special session.
