The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners approved a joint powers agreement with the Metro East Consortium to deliver adult basic education services, the board said Sept. 8.
Commissioner McGuire moved "administrative item number 3, the joint powers agreement with the Metro East Consortium for adult basic education services," and a colleague seconded the motion. The board carried the measure by roll call.
The agreement will formalize intergovernmental cooperation to provide adult basic education in the Metro East service area. The board’s action was framed as an administrative item; staff and commissioners did not provide additional contract dollar amounts or a start date during the meeting.
The board approved the measure without recorded objections. The county clerk will publish the finalized agreement in the county records and staff will implement the program in coordination with Metro East officials.
