Several residents used public comment to press the county for help resolving construction-related damages and delayed payments. Tim (speaker 6) reported a damaged side ditch from recent construction and said he had not been paid for crop damages in 2025 or 2026. The chair asked Tim to provide details and offered to connect him with county staff and legal counsel to pursue a remedy.
Kevin Love (speaker 10) said he had a signed contract with a contractor working on turbine-related cable burial and that payment was late. "I'm Kevin Love. I live out by the towers," he said, and later told commissioners the contractor paid him about 45 days after the contract's 30-day payment term. He also raised concerns that buried cable depth was shallower than specified and that he did not receive promised stone under his contract. Commissioners suggested legal avenues and asked staff to follow up with the resident and the contractor. County staff confirmed they meet weekly with the contractor and will seek to resolve access and payment concerns.
Other public comments announced a 9/11 remembrance ceremony and raised school traffic and event coordination items. Commissioners thanked speakers and directed staff to make contact and report back where appropriate.
