County HR recommended pausing enrollment in the AirMed supplemental membership for employees until January plan-renewal season, citing broker concerns about network guarantees and circumstances where a non-AirMed transport could leave an employee responsible for billed amounts. HR said a broker-offered alternative (MASA) will be researched alongside AirMed and recommended delaying employee enrollment to avoid confusion.
"For the benefit of our employees, if this is a benefit that we're offering them, I feel like we need to do some more research and compare these 2 programs before we decide to sign up with someone," HR staff said. The commission agreed to wait until January for a final decision and coordinated enrollment to avoid mid-year confusion.
Separately, IT/HR staff reported that ADP's implementation schedule will slide to a January 1 go-live after an ADP specialist resigned and the vendor needed time to assign a replacement with local-government/payroll expertise; county staff said they will run test payrolls and stop using the old provider by year-end.
"ADP will start January 1, our 1st payroll in January," staff said; commissioners accepted the revised timeline.
