Newbury HR board reports new library director, Isla Colburn, starting Aug. 4

The Newbury Human Resources Board reported that Isla Colburn has been hired as the town's new library director and will begin work on Aug. 4. Diane Doyle, speaking for town personnel, said Colburn brings prior experience and is already working with existing Newbury Library staff.

"We have a new director on board. August 4. Isla Colburn. She comes with experience in Meramec, and she was previously in Haverhill, I believe. She also worked with 1 of the other staff members currently over at the Newbury Library. So she seems to be hitting the ground running," Doyle said. The board did not record any further formal action at the meeting related to the hire; Doyle indicated the appointment is in place and did not specify additional transition details or a formal start‑of‑employment ceremony.
