City leaders and Affordable Housing Management, Inc. celebrated the completion of Oakwood Park, a 16-unit permanent supportive housing apartment complex that will house individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness, a city staff member said.
The staff member said residents will receive ongoing case management services from Greensboro Urban Ministries and will have access to amenities including playgrounds, community centers, fitness centers and gathering spaces. The briefing stated the project cost $4,300,000 and was made possible by a collaboration among Affordable Housing Management, Inc., the City of Greensboro, the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and Greensboro Urban Ministry.
City officials presented the development as an example of coordinated funding and service delivery for people moving out of homelessness; the briefing did not include construction timelines, renter eligibility criteria, or ongoing operating budgets.
