During public comment, Sheryl Miller, who identified herself as the owner of 625 North Main, urged the council to examine a recent Board of Adjustment decision. Miller alleged the board overruled the Planning and Zoning Commission and ‘‘didn't hesitate to ignore state and municipal law,’’ and she said neighbors felt disadvantaged by notice and process failures.
Miller told the council it appears a city council member who benefited from the infrastructure vote received special treatment. “Randy Strait deserves to be treated like all of us in Spring City. No special treatment,” Miller said. Council members acknowledged the seriousness of the complaint, reviewed that the city attorney already has been contacted, and agreed to arrange a council call or closed session with the attorney to review the letter from a neighbor’s attorney and to determine any next steps consistent with open‑meeting and litigation rules.
