At the Sept. 3 kickoff, consultants shared early findings from the draft community profile, highlighting demographic and housing trends that will shape the comprehensive plan.
Graham Smith said Spring Hill's largest age group is 25–44 but that the community, like much of the country, is aging. He told the group household incomes have risen sharply in the top tier and that median home values had grown from about $160,000 to roughly $350,000 over the past decade. Smith also reported that only about 7% of the city's land area is commercial and that connectivity (walking/biking/driving) is strongest in older, central neighborhoods and becomes more fragmented in newer outskirts.
The consultants said they will complete the community profile in the coming weeks and share it with staff prior to broader public distribution; the profile will include transportation/utility data, housing supply, and market analysis to inform future policy choices.
