The Henry Clay Township supervisors opened their July meeting and voted to approve the meeting minutes and invoices for the month. The Chair called the meeting to order and the board voted unanimously to approve routine minutes and payments.
In administrative business, supervisors approved switching bill and payroll checks to electronic payment methods to reduce mailing and processing costs. The board also approved a change to building-permit administration that directs Harshman to remit a 10% administrative share of the existing permit fee to the township to compensate for staff time on related legal and administrative tasks. A Harshman representative said the change does not raise the base permit fee; rather, Harshman would release a small portion of the fee it already collects. "All this does is help pay for Sue's time," said a supervisor during the discussion.
The vote on electronic payments and the permit-fee administration passed with members in favor. The board did not specify implementation dates during the meeting; staff were tasked with carrying out the administrative changes and reporting back if additional procedure or language was needed.
