A resident from 6892 Pin Oak Drive urged the town to collect a petition so the highway superintendent can access private properties at Hillcroft to address a long-standing drainage problem, warning delays will make remediation harder. The resident said neighbors had discussed permission with property owners but the town needs written authorization before crews can work on private easements.
The highway superintendent told the board crews will inspect a rotted pipe at the parks building parking lot and may need to dig to determine the extent of repairs. He said the departments expect to share bucket-truck costs and noted wood chips and ongoing brush pickup. "Starting on September 1, the price of salt went up to $93 a ton from 57," the superintendent reported, adding the town has limited barn capacity for salt storage and had difficulty obtaining deliveries earlier in the season.
Supervisor Keating acknowledged the need to follow up with the superintendent on timing and the board asked staff to pursue written homeowner authorization where needed so maintenance can proceed.
