Chair schedules final vote on unchanged 2027 tax rate after no public comment

Chair opened the public hearing for Tom Green County’s proposed fiscal year 2027 tax rate and confirmed a quorum was present. The Chair said the proposed rate would remain at 0.47075, with maintenance and operations (M&O) at 0.42294 and interest and sinking (debt service) at 0.04781. "We are opening up the floor for public comment," the Chair said.

No members of the public spoke during the comment period. The Chair announced the Commissioner's Court will meet Tuesday, 09/08/2026 at 08:30 a.m. to vote on the rate and to adopt the fiscal year 2027 budget. "If there's no further discussion or further public comment, then we will adjourn and re readjourn on Tuesday," the Chair said, closing the hearing and directing the matter to the scheduled meeting for a formal vote.
