Supervisors approved an update to the community lifestyle center fee schedule that adds active volunteer firefighters and U of T Fire and Rescue members to a classification receiving a 50% discount on individual membership; the board also designated family members as eligible for resident rates.
Parks & Rec staff asked to re-advertise the request for proposals to operate concessions at the Community Lifestyle Center after no proposals were received by the initial deadline. Staff also reported usage metrics: 4,323 check-ins to date and 766 memberships sold since the center's soft opening. A Sept. 22 ribbon-cutting (public at noon) and a VIP event earlier that day were announced. The board directed staff to re-advertise the concessions RFP and to implement the fee-schedule changes; staff will also complete required training to activate SilverSneakers programming, which the center has been approved to accept.
