During the public comment period, several residents raised safety and health concerns and urged follow‑up from county staff.
Star Hesse of Narrowsburg asked the committee to review deep roadside drainage trenches that effectively remove shoulders and pose a safety hazard to motorists, and asked whether deer struck by vehicles could be collected for donation to the county's food program. Heather said she would speak to the Department of Public Works about the drainage trenches and noted collection and donation would require processor cooperation.
Martha Scapa of Liberty, a member of the Senior Legislative Action Committee, said a legislator at a morning meeting addressed members of the public in a loud and demeaning way and accused citizens of preventing InfiniteCare from receiving a certificate of need; she described the remarks as disrespectful. Another commenter said a corporation connected to the care center owed the county roughly $8,000,000 and urged the county to pursue collection; committee members did not take action on that claim during the meeting.
