Budget advisory committee opens meeting with moment of silence for Mayor Pro Tem Joe Anderson

The Budget Advisory Committee opened its meeting with a moment of silence to honor Mayor Pro Tem Joe Anderson, who died unexpectedly. Chair James Horan asked members to join him in remembering Anderson and invited anyone who wished to share reflections later in the meeting.

Council members described the city as "reeling" and noted strong personal remembrances. A council liaison said the loss has been difficult for the council and community; the liaison told the committee the city will move forward with sensitivity as it proceeds with regular business. The meeting then proceeded to scheduled introductions and committee work.
