Trustees unanimously approved a temporary Class 3 liquor license for the incoming owner of Tapatio Mexican Grill at 11 W. Quincy Street so the restaurant can continue serving alcohol while the village completes required background checks.
Deputy liquor commissioner Mulhern explained that the temporary license permits continued alcohol service during the administrative review and that the applicant will return to seek permanent licensing once background checks conclude. Abraham Ramirez, the prospective owner, introduced himself and described plans to continue the current menu, saying, “My family and I...we're just really excited to be part of the community.”
The board moved to approve the temporary license; roll-call votes recorded unanimous approval. Ramirez said he expects to return with the permanent-license request after the background review is completed.
