Rick Albers, executive director of Crossroads Recovery Services, outlined the nonprofit's recovery continuum—peer support, workforce placement, recovery housing and jail‑based groups—and asked the board for a three‑year sustainability investment of $300,000 to expand services into rural areas, factories and for seniors.
"My name is Rick Albers. ... I'm now currently the executive director of Crossroads Recovery Services," Albers said, explaining the organization operates 12 recovery houses (about 80 beds) and provides peer coaching, workplace programs and jail outreach. Commissioners asked questions about duplication of services, funding sources and whether opioid settlement funds or senior millage could be applied; staff and a commissioner said they would work with Crossroads on a draft service agreement before any funding decision.
