City officials used the ribbon-cutting at South Academy of International Languages to present a package of eight completed projects in the Arrowood Strategic Investment Area. Mackenzie Nowacki, who leads the city's Strategic Investment Areas program, listed the projects and described the model as a way to deliver projects 'different differently' and more quickly in partnership with neighborhoods.
Nowacki named the projects explicitly: the Nations Ford pedestrian hybrid beacon at Deanna Lane; vertical safety elements on Whitehall Park Drive; street trees planted on Arrowood and Hebron Street; corridor cleanups and sidewalk work; an upgraded intersection at Arrowood and South Boulevard; two new sidewalks on England Street and Sharon Lakes Road; and an ADA ramp upgrade and sidewalk improvement on Kings Ridge Drive. She thanked staff across engineering, transportation, real estate and street maintenance for the coordinated delivery.
