Energy Committee seeks to promote Window Dressers inserts at Old Home Day; fire chief asks about materials

Charlie Horn of the Energy Committee described Window Dressers as a Maine-based nonprofit volunteer program that builds interior window inserts designed to reduce heating costs; Horn noted pricing is on a sliding scale and recipients or substitute volunteers generally assist with the community build. The Committee asked permission to provide information at Old Home Day on Sept. 12, 2026.

The Select Board supported the request, subject to coordination with the Recreation Committee regarding space and setup. Fire Chief Jeff DiBartolomeo asked questions about the insert materials and placement because of fire-safety considerations; the Board asked that the Energy Committee follow up with safety details when finalizing the Old Home Day table plans.
