Select Board sets budget-review meetings for Oct. 27 and 29; cancels Oct. 5 session

Town Administrator Kathleen T. Felch reported a scheduling conflict with the Oct. 5 meeting and presented a draft budget-review procedure and sample submission sheet intended to make department presentations more consistent. Members discussed the need for supporting detail on budget line items while avoiding unnecessary duplication of department budgeting work.

The Board agreed to review the proposed budget procedure and provide comments at a future meeting; department heads and supporting staff will also review it. Budget meetings were scheduled for Oct. 27 and Oct. 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.; the regular Oct. 19 meeting remains scheduled and the Oct. 5 meeting was canceled. The Board discussed holding a short additional meeting later in the week of Oct.12 if urgent business arises, with Oct. 15 identified as a possible hold date.
