The Klamath Falls City Schools Board of Education approved a personnel agenda at a special meeting Aug. 31, clearing the way for the district to hire teachers and other staff.
Renee Clark, a cabinet member and the agenda presenter, introduced item 2.1—labeled the Personnel Agenda—authorizing district hiring. "MOTION: Kelsey Bitzer made a motion to approve the consent agenda as presented, Kathy Hewitt seconded the motion," according to the meeting minutes. Chair Andrew Biggs called for a vote; Bitzer, Hewitt, Trina Perez and Biggs voted in the affirmative and the motion carried. Vanessa Bennett and Nicole Trejo were recorded as absent.
The vote authorizes administrative hiring actions described in the consent agenda; the minutes do not specify the number of hires or individual appointments. The special meeting lasted from 5:00 PM to 5:04 PM and included members of the district cabinet. No amendments or dissent were recorded during the vote.
The board did not hold further formal votes during the meeting. The next procedural step will be administrative follow-through on the personnel approvals recorded in the consent agenda.
