7Brew Coffee final site plan approved with screening requirement

The Planning Commission approved the final site plan for 7Brew Coffee at 1820 Bertie Street on the condition that landscaping along Bertie Street be changed from shrubs to evergreen trees to provide better screening. Staff flagged a question about a proposed menu board and noted that menu boards should be screened from public view when possible.

Commissioners and the applicant discussed the location and screening of the menu board and whether evergreen plantings would adequately screen views from the residential side. Mr. Patterson moved to approve the site plan subject to the shrubs being replaced by evergreen trees; the motion, seconded by Mr. Stott, passed unanimously.
