Staff provided a roundup of active capital projects: the FBO hangar is complete, the wall near the Cosmo JAS development has been stabilized and fenced, the JES project has one building framed while other slabs are scheduled through October and framing into November, and the riverfront project is on schedule for a November finish with initial rentals expected Dec. 1 and Jan. 1.
"The FBO Hangar has been completed... It turned out really nice," staff said, noting a ribbon-cutting in August and only minor touch-ups pending. On the riverfront, staff said 8 of 22 units have letters of intent but no leases yet and that phase-2 slab timing could slip into next spring if needed.
The board discussed Kai Street work where contractor crews installed a 24-inch casing under railroad tracks and are preparing curb-and-gutter and paving in mid-to-late September. Staff noted a $140,000 cost specifically for the railroad casing operation and that the same contractor will handle related paving under a separate contract.
