Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. used a live virtual program to outline the city’s fall calendar and to establish a recurring two‑week online forum for resident questions. "Every 2 weeks, we're gonna come on air," he said, adding the sessions will run roughly 30–45 minutes and operate alongside in‑person Mayor’s Night Out events.
The mayor gave specific dates and locations: a free Led Zeppelin tribute at Wolf Lake Pavilion (doors 6 p.m., show 7 p.m.), Hammond’s 25th 9/11 commemoration on Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Hammond Sportsplex (6630 Indianapolis Boulevard), the annual 'Sinatra and Friends' show at the Pavilion on Sept. 12, and the city job fair on Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hammond Civic Center with ‘‘over 60 companies’’ expected. He also confirmed the Hammond Farmers Market runs Thursdays at Dan Raven Plaza from 4:30–8 p.m. and encouraged residents to attend.
