Fire Chief presented a third‑party compliance platform that aggregates inspection and service reports for hood systems, sprinklers and extinguishers and said the vendor represented its service as costing no direct city subscription fee. The chief asked the board to move the matter to the board for consideration.
Board members raised the question of who would ultimately pay for the service and asked staff to obtain pricing and references from neighboring municipalities. The chief said many larger businesses already have such services built into their maintenance contracts and recommended the city consider the platform for improved oversight. The mayor asked staff to return with cost information by Tuesday night so the board could vote.
Separately, the chief reported the department received a Public Entity Partners grant that will reimburse up to $2,000 for PPE; he requested board approval to accept the grant and said the reimbursement would help the department’s turnout gear replacement plan. The chief also provided routine apparatus and staffing updates and said a rebuilt engine is running well and the department will be fully staffed starting Wednesday.
What’s next: The board moved the Brycer item to Tuesday with a request for pricing and partner references; the chief requested a resolution to accept the $2,000 PPE reimbursement and will return with documentation for the board to vote.
