The Big Horn County Board of County Commissioners on the record adopted a resolution described in the meeting as "resolution 20 26 - 36," approving the county's 2025 compensation philosophy and salary administration manual after staff said recent corrections had been made to the wage and step-grading scale.
County staff member Mark presented the wage updates and said the changes followed a working session to correct grading and step placements. "Those have been put onto the wage sheets. Everything should be everything should be fine now as since we've had more eyes on it," he told the board. A commissioner moved to adopt the resolution; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The presenters also said the adopted matrix includes a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) and step increases placed into the matrix. Commissioners noted some employees are at the top of their pay ranges and that the matrix is intended to provide stabilization over time. The adoption was recorded on the meeting record as passed without a recorded roll-call breakdown beyond voice votes.
The action responds to a multi-step wage-study process the board began earlier in the year; staff described the result as implementing fixes discussed in the working session and placing employees on the corrected steps.
