The All Abilities Committee opened with approval of minutes and the chair introduced new member Jamie Nutrera. Jamie said she is a construction specialist for Dallas ISD with about 15 years of experience focusing on emerging bilingual students who need special education support. "My name is Jamie Nutrera and... I am a construction specialist for Dallas ISD," she said.
The chair said she drafted a short packet of recommended questions and guidance for how the committee should engage speakers, and that she will circulate the document. "I did add about 10 questions, that are suggested questions when we have speakers," she said. Members discussed outreach between meetings, the use of email and staff-mediated circulation to avoid walking quorums, and the idea of forming small study groups. Staff outlined the next meeting schedule: Oct. 7 — HR director Lily Clark to discuss HR programs and a potential job-fair component; November — public information/Webmaster discussion with Tiffany (PMR director); December — fire department presentation; January — Parks & Rec managing director for the buddy league and job-fair discussion. Members also asked to invite the city's ADA officer and related engineering staff to a future meeting to explain intake and inspection processes.
