Parks staff reported that Mayfair Meadows site work is underway and contractors for the bike-park elements are expected to be on site for roughly four weeks to lay subgrade, aggregate and asphalt.
"They're expected to be here for about 4 weeks," Jordan said when describing the contractor schedule for the pump track. Jordan said the intent is to finish the pump track this season and to plan jump-line construction for next year if funding allows. Jordan added that the pump track could be usable when finished even if the existing parking area remains smaller than desired.
Jordan also confirmed the district was awarded a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) that is "a pretty significant part of this project's funding," and said staff will continue pursuing additional LWCF match opportunities and other grants or donations to advance the jump lines and other park infrastructure.
The board asked staff about the timing and contract status for the jump lines and whether the project would require additional match or phased construction; Jordan said contracts and funding decisions will dictate whether some elements are pushed to next spring.
