Ben Silver spoke on behalf of the Hopwood Road neighborhood and said more than 50 residents signed a petition opposing a proposed development at the Hopwood location. He asked the township to ensure residents are fully involved in review committees and that potential impacts to homes and local traffic are evaluated before the project moves forward.
"We do have a petition. Over 50 names are on that petition for different members of our community as well as neighboring communities and we do have a lot of opposition to that project," Silver said, asking the board to involve neighborhood representatives in the evaluation process. Margaret Bright, another resident who also identified herself as a school board member, described vehicle collisions in the area and urged the township to consider school bus and ambulance access when weighing changes to road routing.
No formal action was taken; the comments were entered into the record for staff and the planning process. Residents asked the board to ensure full traffic and safety analysis before permitting any changes to road configuration or land use.
