Director Pearson granted part of an appeal by Mister Coomer over redactions in the softball uniform order records and directed the district to produce the final document with only clothing sizes withheld. Coomer had argued the district supplied screenshots and selectively displayed modified lines that hid other players’ names and numbers; he asked the director to review four versions in camera and rule what could be released. "Version 4... it only had my daughter," Coomer said during his presentation, pressing that a screenshot of version history was not the same as the underlying record.
The district, represented by attorney Heidi Alder, said earlier drafts were coach notes and that the district provided a vendor‑facing screenshot that omitted names and numbers for FERPA reasons. Alder told the director the district considered pre‑order notes drafts not subject to disclosure. After in‑camera review, Director Pearson found versions 1 and 2 were drafts or personal notes and that version 3 was the final document used to place the purchase order; he ordered the district to provide version 3 "with only the sizes redacted." The director said he would issue a written decision within seven business days and reminded parties of the 30‑day right to appeal to district court.
