The Parowan Historic Preservation Committee unanimously approved exterior colors and design details for a planned remodel at 60 West Pioneer Street on Sept. 2, 2026. Applicants Jerry and Cindy Goddard described plans to open the existing garage to expand the kitchen, raise the roofline approximately two feet to match an existing roofline, and add a new porch with pillars finished in cultured stone.
The committee recorded the proposed exterior palette as: roof — black; siding — white or off-white; and cultured stone — slate. Member Debra Slotboom moved to approve the presented colors; Councilmember Lyle Barton seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. The committee did not record any conditions or amendments to the color approval.
The applicants’ remodel also includes vertical siding and a porch intended to coordinate with the cultured stone used elsewhere on the façade. The application materials noted the roofline change would be “approximately two feet” to align with the existing roofline, and the porch design includes stone-clad pillars. No public objections or alternate color schemes were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The approval concludes the committee’s review of color and exterior-material selections for this application; the minutes show no follow-up items or reporting requirements assigned to staff at this meeting.
