Several neighbors spoke in opposition to a requested height increase at 2007 Coolidge Lane, arguing the proposal would alter the neighborhood’s low‑profile character and block long‑held hill‑country sightlines.
Robert Ruggiero, a nearby resident who described himself as a geologist, told the board that the lot sits below higher ground and that a taller building would cut lines of sight across the block. "Height restrictions play a crucial role in preserving neighborhood character," Ruggiero said, reading from a submitted letter that described the visual continuity the neighbors seek to preserve.
Other commenters said the lot appears buildable within existing height rules and that the request reflects a design preference rather than a documented hardship. Several speakers asked for clarity about who was the official applicant and whether notices posted matched the deeded ownership. Residents provided written letters and asked the board to deny or continue action until the public had access to reconciled plan sets and corrected notices.
